Chocolate Sauce

½ cup butter

6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips

12 ounces evaporated milk

3 cups powdered sugar

½ tsp. vanilla

Melt butter and chocolate chips in a pan on the stove. Alternate adding milk and powdered sugar while whisking until all is incorporated. Bring to a boil, reducing heat and stirring constantly. Boil for 5 minutes. Add vanilla. It will thicken as it cools.

I prefer to make this head of time and let it sit in the fridge, then reheat. I think it is a better consistency.
